It is not a “gym quality” machine and you shouldn’t expect that for this price.  There are some flaws.  The fan doesn’t put out enough air to cool effectively.  The handlebars can develop an annoying squeak, but it appears that problem has been fixed by Schwinn.  They now ship with extra washers and a separate instruction sheet on handlebar assembly.

Lots of folks use their exercise equipment in the basement and a lot of basements have lower ceilings than the rest of the house so size can be an issue. Make sure you know how high your ceilings are and how much space you’ll need, especially if you’re tall.

I know, I know.  If you schedule your exercise like a date with yourself you’re more likely to keep up an exercise program.   But if the exercise program just doesn’t fit in with the rest of your life you’re not going to stick with it anyway!

I love being able to hop onto my Schwinn 431 at home.  I do schedule time during the day for my workout and having the elliptical trainer at home where I can spend time with my family or watch TV while I work out makes it easier for me to do.
